In the exciting build up to RESTFEST 2018 we’ll be sharing one of our inspirational guest speakers or workshop hosts with you every week, to give you a little teaser of the awesomeness heading RESTFEST’s way.
This week we’ve had the utter honour to be chatting with MUMFACE Grace – check out her mini interview with Naomi – RestFest founder over on our new Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPVzxsJBh4s&frags=pl%2Cwn
And then get to know her better via these cheeky little questions. Grace will be with us on Sat 6th Oct – Hosting an open discussion about the joys of oversharing….. I’m sensing some confessionals coming out! Be prepared for side-splitting OMG moments!
Here’s MUMFACE Grace’s answers to our questions – Find out more about her and her brilliantly raw and honest memoir over at http://www.mum-face.com
Describe yourself in three words.
Honest, optimistic and neurotic
Three interesting facts about you that not everyone knows!
- I have been an extra in reconstruction footage on Trevor MacDonald Tonight.
- I do a very convincing Cher at karaoke bars.
- I once worked on a turtle conservation project in Grand Cayman, but realised pretty quickly I didn’t like turtles that much.
Who/What inspires you?
It sounds corny, but my kid for sure.
Where/How do you learn?
Again, I seem to learn on the ground with my kid! It’s a constant learning process and just when I think I kind of get it, it changes again.
What’s the best thing about your current career choice?
That after years of slogging it out in various magazine offices I can work around school hours, at home, and can hopefully reassure women that they’re no alone in their feelings.
What does your dream life look like?
Some kind of perfect balance between work and parenting and socialising and wellbeing and hangover-less alcohol.
What advice would you give to the you of 5/10 years ago?
RELAX! It’s all going to be ok. Also: stay up all night partying at least twice a year. Even if only to realise it’s not ALL that when you think you’re missing it later on!
What are you most looking forward to about uflourish Restival?
Seeing women joining together in support of one another
Why should peeps come to your talk/workshop?
I have no shame and am a professional oversharer, so I hope that’ll make for some laughs and with any luck, the sense that you’re not alone in your feelings. We can talk about whatever you fancy, no holds barred.
How will ladies benefit from your workshop/talk?
There’s nothing better than a good belly laugh so I hope you might leave feeling lighter, seen and heard. My day job is as a beauty editor so maybe the odd product recommendation too?!
What three things would make your perfect festival experience?
Warmth, laughs and definitely some coffee. Like, a LOT of coffee actually. And a goody bag.
